RHODES, WHITE RED ROSE

Our wine label design concept for PDO wines from Rhodes creates a strong sense of place through carefully selected visual and tactile elements. The system was developed to maintain brand consistency across both red and white wine varieties while highlighting the island's rich cultural heritage.

The most distinctive feature of the design is the custom die-cut upper edge that directly references the crenellated architecture of the Palace of the Grand Master in Rhodes. This architectural silhouette establishes an immediate connection to the island's medieval history and the legacy of the Knights of Rhodes, while creating a unique shelf profile that enhances brand recognition in competitive retail environments.

We employed multiple production techniques to reinforce the premium positioning through sensory engagement. The packaging design approach includes embossed details that create dimensional relief across the label surface, complemented by a specified hammered-texture substrate that adds tactile complexity and invites physical interaction. Strategic application of metallic inks introduces subtle reflective properties that respond dynamically as the bottle is handled or viewed from different angles.

The background design incorporates wave patterns that reference the surrounding Aegean Sea, extending the sense of place beyond architectural elements to embrace the island's maritime heritage. These layered references to Rhodes' cultural and geographical identity transform the packaging into an effective storytelling vehicle that reinforces the wine's authentic regional credentials and creates a memorable consumer experience.
